| The 13th Viking Challenge raised a record-breaking £30,000 for Redmile Cof E Primary School and Leukaemia Research. The money was shared equally and two cheaques were pesented on Friday 14th March at the school.

Peter Marwood MBE, from Leukaemia Research says, We are absolutely delighted to receive this money from the Viking Challenge. In the last 12 years, Leukaemia Research has raised over £2.5 million of research into blood cancers in Nottingham, and the Nottingham City Hospital is now recognised as the UKs No 1 centre of excellence for Leukaemia. Id like to thank everyone who took part in the Viking Challenge and raised this money.

Mrs Julie Hopkins, Head Teacher of Redmile C of E Primary School says, On behalf of the school, I would like to say a really big thank you to those who cycled the event and raised sponsorship, as well as the parents and local community for all their hard work. This money will make a big difference to the children. We aim to enrich the schools outdoor space; providing outdoor learning areas and challenging play equipment for the children as well as enhancing our childrens learning with specialist teachers and educational trips.

The Viking Challenge awards prizes to those riders who raise the most sponsorship and the 2007 winners are:
Winner of the Team category
Turn and Burn, a team from Rolls Royce in Derby, who raised an amazing £1,500. They win the Viking Challenge Team Trophy and Mountain Hardwear Monkey Jackets.

Winner of the under 16 category
Oscar Rousham from Loughborough raised £302. He wins a Diamondback Response Sport bike from Raleigh.

Winner of the Over 16 category
Rupert Holden from Bakewell raised £482 and wins a mountain bike holiday from sShokwave Mountain Beach.
Endura Prize Draw
Steve Needham was the lucky winner pulled out of the hat and won Singletrack Baggy shorts
from Endura.
